Denim fabric is a sturdy cotton ( mainly)  twill textile, characterized by its diagonal ribbing, traditionally made from indigo-dyed warp threads and undyed weft threads. Originally used for workwear due to its durability, denim gained widespread popularity in fashion, particularly with the rise of jeans in the 20th century.
